Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome
Physiological symptoms: menstrual disorders, infertility, obesity, hirsutism, etc.
Fat polycystic: More than half of polycystic patients have excessive body fat. In addition to obesity, they are prone to three high diseases (high blood pressure, high blood lipids, and diabetes).
Thin polycystic: There are also many polycystic patients in Asia with normal or low body fat, which is usually related to sleep, stress, and autonomic nervous system disorders. Thin polycystic patients are prone to vascular function problems, venous thromboembolism, etc.
In addition, because of irregular menstruation, endometrial hyperplasia increases the risk of endometrial cancer.
Polycystic ovary syndrome is a disorder of liver, spleen and kidney. In traditional Chinese medicine, kidney is related to endocrine reproduction, so the main cause is kidney deficiency. Clinical treatment is mainly to tonify the kidney, supplemented by strengthening the spleen and removing dampness, soothing the liver and promoting qi, and promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis to restore normal menstruation. The conditioning time should be maintained for at least 3 months. The goal of the first 3 to 4 months is to restore the regular menstrual cycle. During the process, the basal body temperature will be measured to help record the presence of ovulation and identify the physical constitution.
Menstrual regulation
Symptoms that occur before and after menstruation can be roughly divided into psychological, physiological, and behavioral manifestations; mood swings, irritability, and anxiety; premenstrual headaches, dizziness, breast tenderness, edema, abdominal pain, abnormal blood volume, irregular menstruation; fatigue and weakness, difficulty concentrating, etc.
The doctor takes the patient’s pulse, analyzes the physical condition, matches the symptoms that match the patient’s, and gives a deep understanding of the physical condition. Based on the changes in physical condition at different stages of each month, the doctor uses strictly tested scientific Chinese medicine to regulate the body, thereby achieving the purpose of regulation.
Infertility
If a man and a woman do not get pregnant for more than two years with normal sexual life and without contraception, it can be called infertility. Infertility is half the responsibility of both men and women, and it can be divided into two aspects: physiological and physical. Physiological problems include: blocked fallopian tubes, abnormal uterine structure, etc., which require further testing with Western medicine or related instruments to rule out physiological problems. If it is just a physical deficiency, it can be treated with Chinese medicine.
Chinese medicine conditioning needs to start from the “whole body”. All parts of the body are related to each other, and the problems of boys and girls are different, for example: weak kidney qi, liver depression and qi stagnation. Because both parties who want to get pregnant are under too much pressure, lack of essence and blood, etc., infertility conditioning must be treated by both parties together. If you plan to get pregnant in a year, you need to start conditioning at least half a year in advance to adjust the physical constitution of both parties to a state suitable for pregnancy.
Prenatal and postnatal care
Prenatal: During pregnancy, the mother will transport a large amount of Qi and blood to nurture the fetus, which can easily cause the Yang Qi to float up and the Qi to go against the flow, causing dizziness, nausea and vomiting in pregnant women; in the late pregnancy, the fetus grows day by day, causing water retention inside, pregnancy edema, and excessive fetal fluid; if the pregnant woman has spleen deficiency and insufficient blood to nourish the fetus, the fetus will shrink and not grow. In more serious cases, the pregnant woman’s Qi and blood are out of balance, the fetus is not solid, and the fetus is restless, which may cause vaginal bleeding and miscarriage.
Postpartum: The parturient consumes too much physical strength during the delivery process or consumes a lot of Qi and blood during caesarean section, resulting in Qi and blood deficiency and loss of body fluids. Lochia, abdominal pain after delivery, body pain after delivery, headache, insufficient breast milk, emotional anxiety and other discomforts may occur.
Prenatal conditioning: In the period from pregnancy to delivery, according to TCM syndrome differentiation and treatment, Chinese medicine is used to regulate the pregnant woman’s body, relieve the discomfort during pregnancy, treat pregnancy diseases, and achieve the effect of fetal stability and smooth delivery.
Postpartum conditioning: According to individual physical conditions, appropriate blood stasis and deficiency to promote the discharge of lochia, eliminate excess water in the body, increase milk production, strengthen the liver and kidneys, and strengthen the bones and muscles, which helps the organs in the body return to their pre-pregnancy state, restore the body shape, and solve postpartum discomfort. It can also reduce the discomfort that occurs during menstruation and menopause, and slow down the aging of the body.
Premature ovarian failure
If a woman is under 40 years old, has not had her period, or her period is too long (more than four months, or even longer), she will have symptoms of premature ovarian failure, which will greatly reduce her chances of conceiving and she will enter menopause early. According to Chinese medicine, the kidney is related to reproduction, growth and development, and endocrine function. The essence in the kidney is particularly important for women’s pregnancy. Part of the essence in the kidney is inherited from the parents, and the other part depends on the support of the spleen and stomach. In addition to kidney essence deficiency, abnormal work and rest, stress, negative emotions, etc. often affect the release of liver qi, leading to “liver qi stagnation”, which is not conducive to the circulation of qi and blood throughout the body, or the kidney essence is depleted due to the retention of dampness, heat, and blood stasis in the body, which is not conducive to pregnancy.
The purpose of TCM in treating premature ovarian failure is not only to create an internal environment that is conducive to pregnancy, but also to improve various discomfort symptoms similar to menopause, so as to regain health, confidence and beauty. In addition to taking medication, acupuncture can also be used to stimulate ovulation, maintain endometrial blood flow, assist in the stability of implantation, and assist the early growth of the embryo.
Menopause care
Menopause occurs when a person has not had a menstrual period for about a year between the ages of 45 and 55. Common symptoms include: hot flashes, a burning sensation on the face, chest, and body that comes and goes, mood swings, irritability, palpitations, chills, and a loss of focus and interest in life.
The severity of menopausal symptoms and physical conditions vary from person to person. By using Chinese medicine to treat the most common hot flashes and insomnia problems, taking advantage of the opportunity to improve your physical condition during menopause, and maintaining healthy eating habits and a regular schedule, your body and mind can be effectively regulated.
