Chinese Internal medicine

Flatulence

Stomach bloating: feeling of pressure and fullness in the upper abdomen due to gas.

Nausea and vomiting: Excessive gas in the stomach causes nausea and vomiting, which may be accompanied by abdominal pain and chest tightness.

Increased gas discharge: Too much gas accumulates in the gastrointestinal tract, and the body functions to expel the excess gas, so the frequency of burping and farting increases.

It is mainly used to regulate gastrointestinal function, or to dissipate dampness and promote the flow of qi, so that the qi flow smoothly and thus improve gastrointestinal function. In daily life, avoid eating too fast, avoid consuming too much food that easily produces gas, and massage acupoints such as Zhongwan, Neiguan, and Zusanli.

Skin allergies

There are two types: contact and non-contact.

①Contact: Skin allergy caused by repeated contact with a certain substance over a period of time.

② Non-contact: dermatitis, eczema, accompanied by itching, redness, swelling, dry flakes, blisters, etc. Or skin allergies caused by seasonal factors.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that most patients with skin allergies have weak constitutions and insufficient body defense functions. Skin allergies are divided into acute and chronic stages. To treat the disease, one must seek the root cause, establish a relationship of mutual trust with the patient, establish a good lifestyle and diet pattern, and use special prescriptions and health education formulated for different physical conditions to achieve the purpose of conditioning.

Nose allergies

Red eyes, itchy eyes, tears, runny nose, sneezing, nasal congestion, itchy throat, coughing, dark circles under the eyes, breathing through the mouth, habitual opening of the mouth, swelling of the face or eyes, headache, loss of sense of smell, etc. Possible complications may include sleep disorders, frequent nosebleeds, sinusitis, otitis media, etc. Or it may be caused by seasonality or allergens.

According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, the lungs control the respiratory system, the spleen controls the digestive system, and the kidneys control our innate constitution in addition to the reproductive and urinary systems. These three seemingly independent systems actually have a dense and complex interactive relationship in Chinese medicine. Therefore, when regulating an allergic constitution, these three systems are almost always regulated to restore harmony among the three, clarify the deficiency of lung, spleen and kidney qi, and allergic symptoms will naturally subside gradually and are less likely to recur.

It can also be used in conjunction with “Sanfutie” for conditioning. The so-called “Sanfutie” is based on the principle of tonifying yang in spring and summer in traditional Chinese medicine. During the “Sanfutian” period of the year when the human body’s yang is at its peak and the skin pores are fully open, the absorption of medicinal properties is best. Selected Chinese medicinal materials with the effects of warming yang, expelling phlegm and cold, reducing allergies and relieving asthma, and resolving phlegm and relieving cough are made into medicine cakes, which are applied to the acupuncture points on the patient’s back every 7 to 10 days, for a total of 3 times. This not only achieves the effect of local stimulation of specific acupuncture points, but also allows the medicinal properties to penetrate into the acupuncture points and meridians through the skin, and through the circulation of qi and blood in the meridians, directly reach the diseased parts of the internal organs, achieving the effect of strengthening the body and eliminating evil. It is very suitable for patients who have difficulty cooperating with medication or elderly patients who have already taken a lot of medication.

Sleep disorders

Sleep disorders are closely related to the functioning of various organs in the human body. Factors such as excessive heart fire, excessive liver fire, excessive yin fire, eating habits, gastrointestinal problems, daily routines, work pressure, emotions, and organ disorders in menopausal women can all cause sleep disorders.

① Mental problems: such as anxiety, depression, mania, and excessive stress.

②Behavioral problems: such as excessive worry about insomnia.

③Nocturnal leg restlessness syndrome, nocturia, and sleep apnea syndrome.

④ Drug abuse or adverse side effects, such as: coffee, nicotine, excessive eating before going to bed, acid reflux, pain, poor cardiopulmonary function, etc., leading to physical discomfort.

⑤ Abnormal biological clock cycle: such as jet lag when traveling abroad, reversed day and night work schedules, and bad work and rest habits.

⑥Primary insomnia (no specific obvious cause)

Cooperate with professional Chinese medicine practitioners to find out the cause of insomnia, treat it dialectically, prescribe symptomatic medicine, or use acupuncture as an auxiliary treatment, or massage acupoints to improve sleep quality. Treating the root cause is the way to stay away from sleep disorders.

Physical conditioning

Traditional Chinese medicine classifies people’s constitutions based on personal physical characteristics, common manifestations, psychological traits, and disease tendencies. In 2009, the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine released the “Classification and Determination of Traditional Chinese Medicine Constitution” standard, which roughly divides human constitution into nine types: balanced constitution, qi deficiency constitution, yang deficiency constitution, yin deficiency constitution, phlegm-damp constitution, damp-heat constitution, blood stasis constitution, qi stagnation constitution, and special constitution.

The basic constitutions in traditional Chinese medicine are divided into nine types. If you want to make an in-depth diagnosis, there are actually many more items. This dialectic is not something that ordinary people who are familiar with traditional Chinese medicine can identify. Therefore, our hospital has specially divided the constitutions into five major categories. The doctors will determine and test your constitution for you, and then match it with relevant internal medicines or teas for daily maintenance. Many symptoms that cannot be specifically described can also be diagnosed by our professional traditional Chinese medicine doctors to achieve effective treatment and conditioning.

Autonomic dysfunction

The autonomic nervous system is a nervous system that is not controlled by the brain’s consciousness. It is composed of sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves. The sympathetic nerves are responsible for excitement, metabolism, and dealing with critical or emergency situations, while the parasympathetic nerves are responsible for inhibition, storage, and cultivation. The two will constantly regulate themselves to maintain a proper balance. When the autonomic nervous system cannot adjust the balance, it is called autonomic nervous system disorder.

Autonomic nervous system disorders are changeable and have no typical symptoms. If you feel unwell but cannot find the cause, it is very likely that it is autonomic nervous system disorder. Symptoms of discomfort may occur all over the body, such as: anxiety, sleep disorders, fatigue, chest tightness, palpitations, muscle aches all over the body, tinnitus, headaches, eye fatigue, frequent urination, gastrointestinal symptoms, etc.

In clinical practice, diagnosis and treatment are used to understand individual constitution and physical condition, and medication is used to regulate qi and blood. Acupuncture treatment, acupoint massage, etc. can also be used to assist.
